“In communication we trust” book presentation in Padua
On 27th June 2026 at the Nassirya Hall in Padua Town Hall, İpek Tekdemir presented the book “In Communication We Trust”.
İpek Tekdemir is a Brussels based strategic communication and policy expert specializing in European affairs, culture and sustainability. Her work focuses on how narrative construction, credibility, and public messaging shape policy debates and influences the European Union’s engagement with its wider neighborhood. She began her career at the United Nations Communication Office and has since contributed to research and analysis on European governance, foreign policy, and strategic communication. Her commentary and analysis appear regularly in mainstream media outlets.

Tekdemir is the author of In Communication We Trust, a book examining how communication, trust, and institutional credibility intersect in international relations. She holds an MBA and has pursued further studies in diplomatic practice, European public affairs, and strategic communication. She frequently speaks and moderates at international conferences and participates actively in global professional networks. Fluent in Turkish, English, and French, she is also engaged in initiatives promoting intercultural dialogue, communication, and community cooperation.
Ipek Tekdemir positioned her book as a timely response to today’s fragmented global discourse: “Communication today is not merely about transmitting information; it is about restoring trust, rebuilding meaning, and reconnecting people across differences. This book is an invitation to rethink how we listen, engage, and truly understand one another.”
The book want also to adress some interesting issues like for example in Chapter 1 the Strategic Communications for Strategic Future, answers to different questions:
- What is strategic communication, and why is it important?
- How has artificial intelligence changed global communication?
- What are the dangers of misinformation and disinformation?
- What does the author mean by the “post-truth” era?
- Why is critical thinking important in modern communication?
At Chapter 3 the book deals with Modern Diplomacy:
- How has diplomacy changed in the digital age?
- What is public diplomacy, and why is it important?
- How can communication reduce conflicts between nations?
- What role does cultural diplomacy play in building trust?
- Why does the author describe communication as the “new language of diplomacy”?
We interviewed Tekdemir at the conference “Living in cities at war” organised by the Padua Institute of Architects on 26th June 2026, where she was one of the speakers:
