Cyberport x FizzDragon“AIGC Film Competition for Creative Movies and DigitalMarketing”

Final Competition Reimagining the Creative Industries with AI and Expanding the Cultural and Creative Strategy Sector

The final of the “AIGC Film Competition for Creative Movies and Digital Marketing” held on 5th March 2026, jointly organised by Cyberport and its incubatee FizzDragon, was successfully held at Cyberport. FizzDragon’s AI-powered filmmaking tools and all-in- one service platform have driven over a million uses and views.

The top 10 finalist presented short films created using cutting-edge AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content) technology, translating their creative concepts into compelling works that showcased both innovative thinking and cinematic artistry.

FizzDragon focuses on AIGC driven content creation for film and entertainment, using AI to revolutionise the way visual and entertainment content is produced. Its one stop AI film generation and creative platform enables creators to complete the entire production process on a single platform, including concept development, character design, scene generation, animation production and post production editing. In 2024, FizzDragon brought together more than 130 creators from 13 countries to produce the world’s first film generated entirely by AIGC and released in cinemas, demonstrating that large scale decentralised collaboration is not only viable but also commercially valuable.

Cyberport and FizzDragon also organised training sessions to enhance participating teams’ capabilities in applying AIGC tools throughout the creative and production process. All winners will have the opportunity to showcase their works on digital displays at Cyberport. They will also gain direct entry into the FizzDragon “Global Studio Incubator”, where they can accelerate their venture development and connect with global creative demands and business opportunities from leading film and TV series distributors as well as IP investors. In addition, a number of local tertiary institutions, professional organisations, and enterprises specialising in AIGC, cross-media and digital media collaborated in supporting the competition.

The competition received a total of about 50 AI-generated short film submissions from Cyberport community companies, enterprises from the mainland and overseas, and tertiary institutions.

AIGC technology is transforming the way stories are conceived, created, and experienced, reshaping the creative industry and broadening the possibilities of content creation. Advances in AIGC technology are also supporting the evolution of IP creation and application, forging new pathways for the future development of brands and enterprises. As Hong Kong’s digital tech hub and AI accelerator, Cyberport consistently supports the integration of AI and digital entertainment. It is also committed to identifying and nurturing creative tech talent in Hong Kong, furthering strengthening the city’s talent pool in creative technology.

The final was highly competitive. The finalists were judged based on five criteria, including “AI Integration”, “Aesthetic”, “Technical Execution”, “Creativity and Innovation”, and “Storytelling & Impact”. Ultimately, Team Wang Meiqua (Peekaboo) achieve the championship of the competition. The 1st Runner-up is Team Team JuicyAI Studio. (Gods Descend) .The 2nd Runner-up is is HongKong Baptist University (Home Sweet Home). There are also Special Awards including Best Narrative Award, Best AIGC Visual Award, Best Creativity Award, Most IP Value Potential Award, and Branding Impact Award.

The judging panel comprised Dr Crystal Fok, Head of Business Development of Cyberport; Mr Robert Chua, veteran film and TV producer; Mr Mak Chun Hung, President of the Hong Kong Motion Picture Post-Production Professionals Association; Mr Eddy Hui, Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Designers Association; Prof. Shin Dong Kim, Professor of Academy of Film of the Hong Kong Baptist University; Mr Sheng Liang, novelist and scriptwriter; and Mr Federico Grandesso, international film reporter.

Mr Mak Chun Hung, President of the Hong Kong Motion Picture Post-Production Professionals Association, said, “the competition has demonstrated Hong Kong’s strong potential in the field of AIGC filmmaking. With closer collaboration among universities, Cyberport and the industry, he believes Hong Kong has the opportunity to take a leading role in the AIGC sector in the future
