Opening of the exhibition A Treasure of Cinema – The Fellini Foundation Collection
The exhibition A Treasure of Cinema – The Fellini Foundation Collection was inaugurated on October 15 in the presence of representatives of the City of Sion and the Loterie Romande Valais, as well as loyal friends, supporters, guests and members of the Fellini Foundation Board, represented by Foundation President Stéphane Marti, Vice President Domenico Mesiano, Vice President Nicolas Brun and Federico Grandesso, Head of International Press. In his speech, the President of the Foundation, designer and co-curator, thanked the Fellini Foundation’s supporters, in particular the Loterie Romande Valais and the State of Valais, for the acquisitions made since 2001 and in particular in 2024 with the second part of the Gérald Morin Collection.

He expressed the Foundation’s gratitude to the institutional support of the Ville de Sion, the Bourgeoisie de Sion and the Lycée-Collège des Creusets. This world-first exhibition presents a wealth of previously unpublished documents on some fifty filmmakers from the dawn of cinema, covering all the stages involved in making a film. The scenography was provided by Antoine Barras, co-curator.

Céline Germanier, a film student at UNIL, helped set up the exhibition. The public was able to immerse themselves in the world of the 7th Art by taking part in a sound itinerary featuring interviews with Federico Fellini and Nino Rota, as well as an anthology of film music by Professor of Cinema Nicolas Brun, co-curator. The exhibition is supported by the Swiss Confederation and the Swiss Federal Office of Culture.
