Padova is the European Volunteering Capital for 2020
The year 2020 will be a great opportunity to represent and involve the world of volunteering and civil engagement on a European level. The challenge is to transform Padua into a city-laboratory where all the social components work together to attract ideas, activate projects and start long-lasting processes and experiences in order to create positive effects on Padova, Veneto, Italy and Europe.
A three-year journey.
Made of ideas, dialogue, inclusiveness.
The three-year period that runs through Padua as the European Capital of Volunteering – made up of thought, meetings, comparisons, projects, exchanges and relations – offers the opportunity to redefine and rewrite the way of living together in the city, and design a future scenario with the active involvement all social actors.
2019 – Kick-off of the project
This year will be marked by the development of actions for generating ideas, reinforcing relationships and getting as many people as possible to know that Padova will be the European Volunteering Capital in 2020.
The year 2020 will begin in January with the official opening of the EV Capital year. An institutional moment of strong impact and with the presence of the highest local and national authorities and an important representation from the different volunteering realities. This will be followed by 12 intense months with many different events, and Padova will be the main framework.
The network of contacts, experiences and contents gathered in 2019 and 2020 will become the basis and source of inspiration for new projects to be developed in 2021. Experiences of urban regeneration, integration, territorial animation and social innovation will become reality.
