Good dealings in Italy for Russia
The city of Bari, in south of Italy, recently opened an Honorary Consulate of Russian Federation.
Despite the difficult situation in Crimea and the European Sanctions, there’s a piece of Italy that tries to build good relationships with the Russian country.
The Apulia region, was historically the door to the east of Europe. This is the most east of Italy area and represents a point of union of different cultures.
The site was inaugurated in Bari, Via Venezia 57, close to the Main Church of San Nicola, with double blessing according to the Catholic and Orthodox rites.
The event was attended by the President of the Apulia Region Michele Emiliano, the mayor of Bari Antonio Decaro, the honorary consul of the Russian Federation in Bari Michele Bollettieri.
“The honorary consulate – said Mr.Decaro – looks to the east, will have to become a center of cultural and spiritual values but also a place in which to develop actions of economic and commercial cooperation, in a dimension of protection and certainty for the realities of our territory engaged in a process of internationalization that sees in the Russian federation a privileged mediator”
