Canada is open for business. Canada is the best country in the G-20 for business according to both Forbes and Bloomberg and the easiest place to start a business in the G-20, according to the World Bank.
Overall business costs in Canada continue to be the lowest in the G-7 and are now 14.6% lower than the U.S., according to KPMG’s 2016 Competitive Alternatives Report.
At the European Business Summit held in Brussels the 1-2 June the Mission of Canada to the European Union presented its business opportunity and the new CETA agreement (Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement) between the EU and Canada about to be implemented.
This freshly negotiated agreement tackles a whole range of issues to make business between European Union and Canada easier. Besides the economic gains of this agreement, conditions are included to guarantee the sustainability of democracy, environment and consumers’ health and safety. These and other issues were discussed in an interview with Mr. Jean-Paul Lemieux Head of Trade, Economic and Science of the Mission of Canada to the European Union.
