DRUUM, an artistic bed&breakfast in the former industrial center of Brussels. #brussels #belgium

DRUUM…6 rooms of different sizes  decorated by different artists in the former brussels industrial zone of the canal: this is DRUUM, a private initiative of 4 sympathetic persons.

The rooms are called: Hidde van Schie, HS63, Grégoire Motte et Thibaut Espiau, Istvan Husjan, Lore Stessel and Cathérine Lommée.

Karine Van Doninck bought the place with her husband  and two friends. The surface is huge. It was a fomer jewelry and still before a pipes factory.

The volumes of every room are impressive. They are perfectly foreseen to give a right impression of space and freedom. Every room is special. It was decorated by the artists whohad their working space during  refurbishment works of the buiding. Karine had the idea to  host artists and let them have their workshop in the room.

The Lore Stessel room with its magnificien baththub

I slept in the “Lore Stessel room”: a room which represents a dancing girl and her elegant movements. Just a part of the wall is decorated. The other part is rough with the genuine old red bricks. My room was huge, scarcely furnished with an XXL bed for an unforgettable quiet night.

I really liked the old-fashioned baththub in which I felt asleep. Gorgeous…

Karine wanted particularly to develop belgian and brussels products.  That’s why  breakfast was typically belgian with brussels pastries, belgian cheese, good juices, ham, jam, honey  and lots of old and new books to read about brussels’s life.

I highly recommend this elegant B&B to feel the atmosphere of Brussels.
