On the occasion of the next non-commercial Universal Exposition that will take place in Milan in 2015, The Bocconi Alumni Association organized a conference in collaboration with the College of Europe, in which the Delegation of the Lombardy Region in Brussels kindly opened its doors for us, for an interesting conference and dialogue on the ExpoMilano 2015.
Having selected Milan as the city to host the Universal Exposition, Italy chose to talk about the problems of nutrition and the resources of our planet: ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life’ will be its central theme. The main goal of this non-commercial Universal Exposition will be the proposition of a dialogue between international players to exchange views on these matters that are relevant to everyone and constantly changing. For this reason, Expo Milano 2015 will be the first Exposition in history to be remembered not only for its products but also for its contribution towards education on food and the planet’s precious resources.
During the conference, the Delegation of the Lombardy Region in Brussels unveiled its program of this event where, inside a giant site covering one million square meters, over 130 participants will welcome, not surprisingly, more than 20 million visitors over a period of 184 days. EU Information et Communication Coordinator EXPO 2015 Mr. Tremeur Denigot described the main objectives of the exhibition and expectations among future for this show that will begin from May 1 to October 31, 2015.
