ALEXIS TSIPRAS: EUROPEAN PROGRAMS FAILED

Tsipras

Alexis Tsipras Party of the European Radical Left  is in Europe against austerity and bailout programs dominated by the ideal of fiscal austerity. He is a new leader and represents a new political force.

He recently recalled the case of the Federal Republic of Germany ( FRG), high in the debts and threatened to lead all European countries in turmoil in 1953.

Europe at that time , was not that of today: the member states understood that reclaim German debt would cause the same effect as this of the Treaty of Versailles : a new world war . They met in London during a special summit and twenty-one countries decide to reassess their requirements in terms of real capabilities of their partners to meet their obligations. 60% nominal debt of the FRG had been amputated and the had accepted a moratorium of five years ( 1953-1958 ) and a period of thirty years for repayment. Then European states decided to provide a ” development clause ” to allow Germany to not spend for the  debt reimbursement  more than a twentieth of its export earnings .

According to Tsipras, the  solution to the problems of today stems from the perceptive behavior of the  fathers of the European Union. “The rescue programs in the countries of Southern Europe have failed. Digging bottomless pits,  we invite taxpayers to  to fill them . Achieve a comprehensive collective and definitive solution to the problem of debt has never been more urgent . And we should with difficulty understand that such an objective is retracted with as goal  ensure the re-election German Chancellor …. “ he  said in Le Monde Diplomatique .

The idea forward by the leader of SYRIZA   is that a European conference on the debt shoud be organised to ensure a comprehensive response to the credit crisis.

Tsipras received the support of major European and intellectual personalities and may become the new President of the European Commission after the European elections in May 2014.

This proposal represents a compelling solution but Berlin could hardly deny.

At the European political campaign , the risk of tensions between the  EU and Germany seem inevitable.
