On Tuesday, the leadership of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), the liberal member party from Bulgaria, lead by Lyutvi Mestan, came to Brussels for a day-long visit. He met with key liberal figures including ALDE Party President Sir Graham Watson, ALDE Group Leader Guy Verhofstadt and European Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes. During the meetings, the MRF presented the policies it is pursuing as a key player in government, primarily repairing the economic damage done to Bulgaria’s economy by the previous government led by the GERB party.

Sir Graham Watson and Guy Verhofstadt congratulated the MRF for their consistent pro-European political stance. Lyutvi Mestan discussed sharing the MRF’s ambition to expand the party’s representation in the European Parliament in the upcoming European elections from three MEPs to four.
