MAAP: 20 YEARS OF SUCCESS

The agri-food market of Padua (MAAP), the first vegetable wholesale market for processed goods in Italy, celebrates 20 years since its move to its new headquarters in the industrial zone of Padua.

Born in 1934 as a wholesale market for vegetables, the MAAP for twenty years makes use of a new modern facility that allowed him to transform from a simple exchange market for fruits/vegetables in a real food center where logistics, technology and entrepreneurship meet at the same place.

On July 13, the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the new headquarters was held.

It marked a radical change in its management. In the presence of the Minister for Economic Development Flavio Zanonato, Mayor of Padua Ivo Rossi and the president of MAAP Franco Frigo also recently MEP in Brussels, the event was also an opportunity to highlight the successful results of the organizational model of the market food of Padua.

Despite times of crisis, MAAP is steadily increasing. With its 250,000 square meters of extension, 110,000 cubic meters of cooling capacity, 38 companies and 1,000 people who work there daily, MAAP is confirmed gateway to privileged markets of eastern Europe.

The recipe is all there: investment, work organization and memoranda of understanding with foreign organizations.
