A NEW BISHOP FOR LIEGE
Yesterday, in presence of Cardinal Godfried Daneels and Mgr Leonard, archbishop of Belgium, Mgr Jean-Pierre DELVILLE was inaugurated as bishop of Liège, an important diocese in the eastern part of Belgium. Mgr Delville follows Mgr Alois Jousten who resigned for age reasons.
He is 57 and lecturer at the Université Catholique de Louvain. Numerous political personnalities were rpesent like Willy Demeyer, mayor of Liege and Karl-Heinz Lambertz, first minister of the german-speaking government of Belgium.
