MARGARET THATCHER PASSED AWAY
LONDON/BRUSSELS – With deep sadness, we have to announce the death of Baronness Thatcher.
Baronnes Thatcher was prime minister of Great Britain between 1979, when she was elected leader of the Conservatives party, and 1992.
She was a prime minister of unprecedented format, being the first woman at 10 Downing Street in the history of Great-Britain.
Nicknamed “The Iron Lady”, Margaret Thatcher had to cope with fierce crises when she was on duty. We all remember the miners strike, the fight against IRA-terrorists, the Falklands war. Margaret Thather was, after Winston Churchill the most prominent Conservative PM of the XXth century.
In her late years, she had no public appearances any more although she was a life peer.
We will all remember a great politician and a person who marked the history of the United Kingdom
