The belgian minister of finances Steven Vanackere (cd&v) resigns. He made a press conference in Brussels this morning.

He confirms he did nothing wrong in the Dexia/Fortis in relation with the beneficiary certificates of the ACW(flemish christian democrat labourers movement) which was, due to the merge between their bank BACOB and Dexia, involved in the develoments of the Dexia-bank case.

He was replaced by Prof. Dr. Koen Geens, lecturer at the KUL university, specialist company law and former head of cabinet of Kris Peeters in the flemish regional government
