Interview with EU Development Commissioner Mr. Andris Piebalgs and Mr Paolo Iammatteo, Senior Vice-President of Enel group on the occasion of presentation of the project “Enabling Electricity” at the European Parliament.

EU 40 and Enel Group, in the framework of the International Year of Sustainable Energy for all (2012), discussed the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative and introduced the project “Enabling Electricity” during a walking lunch at the European Parliament (Presidential Salon) last November 2012 with  the presence of the EU Development Commissioner, Mr. Andris Piebalgs and Mr Paolo Iammatteo, Senior Vice-President of Enel group.

EU Development Commissioner, Mr. Andris Piebalgs, during the Rio+20 conference last June, pointed out that the EU is fully behind the Sustainable energy for all initiatives. According to the Commissioner, all actors, be they public or private, international or local, have a role to play.

The Enel Group is responding to the UN Secretary-General and Commissioner calls to action and has created its “Enabling Electricity” program, with the aim to contribute to the fight against energy poverty

We had an interview with commissioner Piebalgs on the connection between the development of a country and EU sustainable policy energy and with Mr. Ianmatteo on occasion of the 50th  anniversary of Enel group.
