Nicole de Moor, emphasized key topics related to the European return system and migration challenges. She highlighted the need for improvement in the return system, describing it as fragmented, and called for a revision of the return directive. 

De Moor advocated for faster procedures for individuals posing security risks and proposed introducing a legal obligation for individuals to cooperate with return authorities, as already implemented in Belgium.

Additionally, De Moor addressed the situation in the Middle East, expressing concern over the impact of ongoing conflicts on migration flows, particularly regarding Lebanon. She stressed the need to address the root causes of migration and urged the EU to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by conflicts, which are straining Europe’s asylum systems.
