EU27 guidelines for Brexit put forward
The EU #Brexit Summit equipped the EU27 chief negociator Michel Barnier with the guidelines for the upcoming talks, with the major task of getting maximum amount from the UK for the EU projects up to the end of the current budget cycle up to 2020, and ensuring best rights for more than three million EU expats living in Britain. The other issue of concern is the Irish border, that should not become a wall across the island.
Barnier is expecting to launch first cycle of negotiations after the June 8 election empowering Prime Minister May. “We are ready,” Barnier said. “We are together.”
The EU27 leaders also firmly ruled out talks on the free trade agreement May wishes until they see “significant progress” on key withdrawal terms.
