Greece should leave the euro zone and then it can be given debt relief said Chrisitan Linder the head of Germany’s Free Democrats (FDP), a ‘classic’ liberal party, in a programme of a German radio station on Thursday, 9.02.2017.
However, Linder suggested Greece should remain in the European Union so it can get subsidies to put into infrastructure or help small- and medium-sized businesses.
“It’s clear that Greece needs to have its debts written off,” Lindner concluded. “Greece’s debts can only be written off outside of the euro zone, so we’re talking about Grexit.”
The opinion is not unique to German political landscape, and has been repeated more often in mass media recently.
