Nato used a non-existent threat from Russia to intensify military presence in Eastern Europe and in the Baltic states. RAND Corporation’s has released a report saying that Russian forces could reach Baltic capitals in less than 60 hours.
So Nato should spend 2.7 billion dollar every year to prevent that this scenario becomes real. The Pentagon said that it would spend more for 2017 to enhance military presence near the Russian borders.
Russia has declared that it doesn’t have any intention to threat its neighbors or other countries. There isn’t any sign that Russia wants to wage a reckless war for no national aim against the Baltics.
The only thing that Russia wants is respect for its government, for its interests and protection for Russian borders.
