Two Turkish journalists Can Dundar and Erdem Gul were condemned to life sentence by the Erdogan government. They have been accused of espionage and RTF (Reporters Without Borders) said that this judgement is unacceptable.
They were imprisoned on 26 November 2015 because they tried to overthrow the regime of the president Erdogan and they provided army supplies to Syrian Islamic groups.
The representatives of nine international NGOs protested outside Silivri prison to ask to release the journalists. A petition started to circulate on social networks and it can be signed by people who are outraged. They can sign this petition clicking on the link below.
Turkey is becoming one of the countries with the biggest number of prisoners and this number doesn’t stop increasing. Moreover, most of the prisoners are pro Kurdish.
