The “Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles” is a graduate school of arts in Bruxelles. Every year students who attend this school have to organize two exhibitions of their artworks that represent the annual exams. From Wednesday 20th to Friday 22nd there is one of this academic exhibition.
This exhibition is evaluated by a committee that examines different and particular sculptures of the students. Particularly, the student Werther Gasperini has made a sculpture series entitled “Ordre du jour”.The artist presents us five pieces that highlight contemporary issues and he wants to strike spectators in order to make them think about daily facts.
The artworks are made with motors that create a deafening silence and news doesn’t broadcast anymore by television or radio. The artist wants to represent the migratory conditions giving a perpetual immortality.
These five pieces express a kind of irony about the human life and its uncertain condition. In particularly one of these pieces is a window with a red wrap and the cornice has red lights and barbed wire. The name of this artwork is “Niveau 4” and it refers to alert level that there was in Bruxelles after the terrorist attacks of Paris.
The message of all the artwork is to make people think about the current events that happen everyday in the world.
