Equal status to all the Regions in respect of States in the Alpine Region #Eusalp

logoYesterday afternoon, Alessandro Fermi, the Italian Regional Secretary of the implementation program, institutional national and international relations, showed in Brussels his satisfaction about this program after having met with the European Commissioner for regional policy, Corina Cretu.

The objective of this meeting that took place on the headquarters of the European Commission, was to enhance regional governance in the European Alpine macro-regional strategy.  The approval of this Action Plan by the Commission is expected by the end of the month.

For this new program, the governance strategy should be innovative and streamlined where the role of the regions here is crucial. The themes of the Eusalp Strategy range from research and innovation, economic development, transport and the environment, where the territories that are part of Eursalp will work together.

The Steering Committee for the construction of the Strategy will be held on October 8th and 9th in Milan. The European Council will be called to approve the Alpine macro-regional Strategy in December.
