On June 17th, the Belgian cyclist Eddy Merckx, also known as ‘The Cannibal’ will celebrate his 70th birthday.

Named best cyclist in the twentieth century by the International Cycling Union (ICU), he completed a set of successes almost impossible to achieve.

With his 535 victories, he fascinated all cyclism lovers from all over the world.

On last Monday night, a special ceremony was held at the Brussels town hall led by the Mayor Yvan Mayeur and the first alderman Alain Courtois.
