Supporters of Israel gather on Sunday in London for the ‘We Believe in Israel’ Conference
Supporters of Israel from around the Britain take part Sunday in the country’s largest ever grassroots conference on the Jewish state.
The ‘’We Believe in Israel’’ conference willcover dozens of subjects around Israel including online activism and countering the burgeoning Israel boycott movement.
‘’Like the We Believe in Israel grassroots network, the Conference will be a broad-based and inclusive one open to anyone, Jewish and non-Jewish, and from across the political spectrum, who supports the right of the State of Israel to live in peace and security’’, the organizers said.
The day consists of two plenary sessions with high-profile speakers from the UK and, Israel, including former Bristish Education Minister Michael Gove and Britain’s Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis.
The sessions cover practical campaign skills, debate about hot issues, include groups with an interest in a specific sector such as campus activity, the latest knowledge about the situation in Israel and the wider Middle East, and understanding of the challenges facing Israel in different sectors of British civil society.
Speakers include academics, politicians, rabbis from across the religious spectrum, journalists, campaigners, activists and grassroots groups.
Israel ambassador in London, Daniel Taub, who addresses the event, declared:“The simple but powerful message of We Believe in Israel is more important than ever. Never has it been more important for friends of Israel, and indeed all those who hope for progress and peace in the Middle East, to connect, become more informed, and learn how to make their convictions heard. Come, be inspired, and go on to inspire others.”
