Food and basic goods continue to enter Gaza from Israel, Gaza people receive treatment in Israel

While Hamas and their allied terrorists continue to launch rockets and missiles at Israeli civilians, shipments to their civilian families are continuing unabated.

Some 200 trucks of foodstuffs and other basics goods and products have traveled through the Kerem Shalom crossing since the start of ‘Operation Protective Edge’ aimed at stopping the rocket fire from Gaza.

The Israeli government has been adamant — as it was during past conflicts — to differentiate between terrorists and civilians who reside in the Gaza region.

Israel does its best not to punish Gaza civilians for the attacks perpetrated by the terrorists in their midst.

Moreover, many people from Gaza continue to receive medical treatment in Israel.
Over 20 Palestinians, including eight children from Gaza, are being treated at the Rambam hospital in Haifa while half the State of Israel is under threat from Gaza rockets.

Currently, hospitalized patients include 3 adults and 8 children from Gaza, and 3 adults and 2 children from the Palestinian Authority (PA). In addition, this Haifa hospital has 7 patients from the PA being treated in the outpatient clinics. Additional patients from Gaza area scheduled for treatments later this week.

Most of the hospitalized children are in the pediatric oncology or nephrology wards. Of these, the majority is under the age of three, and they are accompanied by relatives. Additional medical problems and the need for long-term treatment makes lengthy hospitalizations standard for these children.

Medical cooperation between Israel and the PA continues despite the shooting.

Rambam Health Care Campus treats hundreds of patients each year from the Palestinian Authority and Gaza, including 650 children and teenagers in 2013. These patients come to Rambam for a variety of medical problems, some of which are complex and require hospitalization.
