On 25th of June, the City of Rome and its municipal agency, Risorse per Roma, hosted a networking event at the Representation of the Lazio Region in Brussels during the European Union Sustainable Energy Week-EUSEW in Brussels
Over 80 people participated to the ”successful stories of Green IT Net project” which represented the benefits that Green IT Net can bring to EU countries.
The successful stories of Green IT Net shown by the partners are the transfer methodologies of good practices from one partner city to another, such as:
1. Bicingfrom Barcelona to Rome: the bike sharing system to be implemented in Rome will be inspired by the consolidated ICT management model of Barcelona bike sharing.
2. Green IT Energy Solutions for Datacentersfrom Amsterdam to Riga: the result is the reduction of energy consumption of public datacenter facilities.
3. Wi-Move from Rome to Catania and Malta: smart info-mobility combined with tourist and cultural services through mobile technology.
4. Urban Labs at a new Dutch Airport business areafrom Barcelona to Amsterdam Region: methodology of implementing test beds, innovative procurement and developing R&D centers on green IT, towards a sustainable and innovative area.
The participants and journalists were from several EU countries. They had the opportunity, whilst enjoying typical local short-chain food products during the world cocktail, to exchange views and experiences and study the exhibition of 10 posters on the good practices transfers among the 11 partners of the project: Riga, Manchester, Rome, Risorse per Roma, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Catania, Lund, Malta, Kranj and Czestochowa.
The event of 25th June was an extraordinary opportunity not only for the Green IT Net followers to meet, but also for all members of the EU Green IT community to participate in the discussions, all this in company of the musical group “Les Chats de Brassala”.
