Salaries of the high-level leaders of the European Central Bank (ECB) increased last year. Mario Draghi as well as Vitor Constâncio saw their wages increase by more than 1 % in 2013, which is above the rate of inflation in the euro area for that year (0.8 %).
According to the 2013 annual report published by the ECB, the President of the monetary authority, Mario Draghi, has received € 379 240 last year, an increase of 1.1 % compared to the € 374 124 that he received in 2012. This means that Draghi has seen his salary “fattening” of € 4 116 in a year, and has received € 1 036 per day in 2013.
Meanwhile, the nearly 60,000 colleagues of these two European officials will receive in 2013 and 2014 the same salaries they received in 2012.This speaks for itself, no?
