The 4th EU-Africa summit (EU) opened this April 2, 2014 in Brussels. Organized on the theme “Investing in people’s prosperity and peace”, the  summit  brings together heads of state and African and European government  to boost the partnership between Africa and the  EU. The situation in Central African Republic (CAR) is also on  the agenda of the summit.

It is also being  discussed this wednesday at a mini-summit on the centrafrican republic  bringing together countries most involved in this crisis.

Participants will explore opportunities to restore security and stop the killing in Central Africa. The EU described the situation as “disastrous” and wants a more effective African response.
