The former italian government, under Prime Minister Enrico Letta decided to make budget cuts and so decided to remove Prof. D.ssa Federiga Bindi (who possesses an impressive academic background) from her position as manager of the Institute Italiano di Cultura in Brussels. This decision hasn’t been withdrawn by its successor, Renzi’s cabinet (PD).
This decision is extremely criticable and means a significant damage for the effulgence of the italian culture in Brussels. The extreme dedication of Prof. D.ssa Bindi didn’t pay off for political reasons. She organised so many high level conferences, theatre evenings, exhibitions, cultural moments, tastings. Regulars of the IIC could discover the whole italian culture. She was wonderfully seconded by Lady Watson, the spouse of british MEP Graham Watson.
All the friends of the IIC say a great “Thank you” to Prof. D.ssa Federiga BINDI who let blow a wind of fresh air and rebirth for this institution related to the italian ministery of foreign affairs.
