The  European Jewish Community Center celebrated  Chanukah yesterday in the famous  Berlaymont  building belonging to the European Commission. There were numerous high level personnalities like H.R.H.  Princess Lea of Belgium;  Baronness Catherine Ashton of Upholland PC, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and security policy.

The traditionnal Menora was lighted by the famous French writer and philosopher Marek Halter. He made a speech about a universal issue: Peace !

Chanukah is celebrated all over the world, and in the houses and in the politicial institutions.  Its message is clear: “a little light can do disappear lots of obscurity”.

The individual light should be shared by every individual with the rest of  the world.
