LAUNCH OF THE LUX FILM DAYS 2013
Enjoy the best of what European cinema has to offer during the LUX Film Days.
Every year the EP awards the LUX Film Prize to films that promote European cinematography, values and social issues and in 2013 Miele, The Broken Circle Breakdown and The Selfish Giant are up for the honour. You have the chance to watch them for free in your country during the LUX Film Days and vote for your favourite online. The award ceremony will take place in December.
The European Parliament gives out the award each year to help promote films that go to the heart of the public debate in Europe. The winner, to be selected by MEPs, will be presented with the prize during the December plenary session.
The winner gets funding to have the film subtitled in all of the EU’s 24 official languages and create special versions for the visually and hearing impaired. The film also benefits from promotion activities, such as the LUX Film Days.
The LUX Film Days take place in 28 European countries to allow everyone to watch the three shortlisted films, subtitled in their own language. Find out here where and when the LUX FILM DAYS are happening in your country and don’t miss the opportunity to participate to the screenings and debates.
