The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders met with his Senegalese counterpart Mankeur Ndiaye this October 27th in Dakar.
Together, they discussed various aspects of bilateral relations between Senegal and Belgium, which are excellent.
Senegal is a partner country of the Belgian Development Cooperation . Many Belgians have invested in Senegal , particularly in real estate and hospitality. The Brussels Airlines Belgian dredging company Jan de Nul performs are active in the country.
Senegal will host the 15th Francophonie Summit in Dakar in 2014 , the opportunity to salute the work of Abdou Diouf , Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie since 2003.
Didier Reynders welcomed Senegal’s efforts towards the stabilization of Mali , through the regional organization ECOWAS ( Economic Community of West Africa ) and its participation in the Minusma ( Multidimensional Integrated United Nations Stabilization Mission in Mali ) .
