A crowd of medal-holders will attend the 2013 edition…in Brussels.

The Memorial Ivo Van Damme is part of the IAAF-Diamond League, this competition includes fourteen international meetings distributed on four continents. Few finals were disputed last week-end in Zurich, but still 16 finals are to be played during the Brussels meeting, the last one of the season. And no less than 59 medalists of the last Moscow world championships will be present, and also 12 olympic champions from London 2012 will attend.
Of course Jonathan Borlee will compete in the 400m. Although it is nearly the end of the season and all athletes are tired,  he declares he wants to be fast on friday. Also the sixth times olympic champion Usain Bolt agrees that the Brussels audience is incredible, warm, fantastic. And Usain Bolt quoting: ” there are days when you wake up and it’s in great shape, others less so. But in any case, the atmosphere during the race will help a lot. At Van Damme, the public is exceptional, I love it, it is very exciting. I’ll give up and try to make the show. ”
