ELDR WANTS A CLEAN UP OF CZECH POLITICS
Reacting to recent events in the Czech Republic where the Prime Minister Petr Nečas has tendered his resignation in the light of a fraud and spying scandal involving his closest aide, ALDE Party PresidentSir Graham Watson MEP said: “these developments are very worrying and I hope the police investigation is conducted thoroughly and rigorously and the political instability quickly resolved. Corruption has no place in European politics.”
“In her role as Deputy Prime Minister and Chairwoman of the Government Anti-corruption Committee Karolína Peake and her LIDEM (Liberální Demokraté) party have worked tirelessly to try to rid the political system of corruption. She has the full support of European Liberal Democrats in her drive to clean up Czech politics.”
