MARCH.02.2013 – Shimon PERES, the president of Israël with an impressive political carreer will be tuesday in Brussels for a private event.

 

Shimon PERES was born in 1923 in Poland. He is the ninth president of the State of Israël. he was twice prime minister and once interim prime minister. He has been 12 time minister and began his politcal carreer 66 years ago when he was elected an MP in the 1959 elections. he occupied quite the most imaginable cabinet posts: immigrants assimilation, defense, finances, transportation, foreign affairs.

The presence of Shimon Peres in Belgium shows the important role our country has to play on european and world level. The shadow of the israeli-palestinian conflict is never far away and our country has also a particular story with the jewish community, most of them living in Brussels and Antwerp.
