MARCH.01.2013 – We wrote some days ago that no decision was taken by brussels minister Brigitte Grouwels regarding to an extension of the brussels metro to the north.

The regional government met yesterday and took a decision and chose a tracé for the north extension of the metro wich will be ready in 2022. As said, it takes around 10 years between the decision to create a tube line and the day the passengers can use it. The tracé will start from the north till Bordet (in Evere) through among others Place Liedts and the “cage aux ours”. There will be also a new tube station “Constitution/Grondwet”.

The automaticised metro will also be used in the future. The north-south axe between Albert in Uccle and the north station will be  now used by metro vehicles.
