NATO calls North Korea to comply with international obligations
“The launch of a new ballistic missile test by North Korea this morning (14 May 2017) is a new flagrant breach of a series of United Nations Security Council Resolutions, constituting a threat to international peace and security.” – says the statement of NATO Spokesperson Oana Lungescu on the latest ballistic missile test by North Korea.
“This is a time when de-escalation is needed, not provocation,” – Lungescu said.
“North Korea should comply with its international obligations, cease all activities related to its ballistic missile and nuclear programmes, abandon all existing weapons of mass destruction programmes in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner, and engage in a credible dialogue with the international community.”
