At the end of April, the European Parliament has voted an increase in the money each deputy has to pay to its political group. This decision has been discussed very little, which could mean that all eurodeputies agree with this measure. However, nothing could be further from the truth, because for example almost all the Belgium eurodeputies are against it.

It was Gérad Deprez the one negotiating this increase, saying that this measure could lead to a better use of this money. Nevertheless, the arguments in favour of the proposal are undermined in relation to the arguments against.

Nine of the Belgium eurodiputies have submitted several amendments, but their votes weren’t enough to stop the proposal because they represent less than 2,8%.
