Animal health is supported by European Institutions #EU #Animalhealth
Regulation on Transmissible Animal Diseases is the new name of the previous proposal known as Animal Health Law. The European Parliament and Council have reached a political agreement on it showing their interest on the importance that animal health has in Europe and also in the world.
Animal health is not only focused on animal welfare, there are some other factors that are really affected such as sustainable agriculture or human an public health.
Focusing in the case of sustainable agriculture, without animal health a safe food supply wouldn’t exist. Then, without a controlled supply of food, there could be animal diseases that finally would affect people if they consume this food, so at the end it is a chain where everyone could be implied.
Animal health companies in Europe are persistent on searching new ways to deal with diseases. After having the support of the European Institutions they are willing to obtain a better legislative framework so then they will become more competitive in the market. They are looking for a change that would let them improve their product availability to veterinarians, farmers and animal owners.
