EORTC Supports the European Week Against Cancer #cancer #europe #eortc

eortcThe EORTC fills an important niche as a pan-European academic research infrastructure.
It plays an essential role in conducting non-commercial, academic, international cancer clinical trials with a mission to develop, conduct, coordinate, and stimulate translational and clinical research in Europe to improve the management of cancer and related problems by increasing survival and patient quality of life.

As such, the EORTC fully supports the European Week Against Cancer 2015 whose aim is to spread the word about how cancer can be prevented and promote the European Code Against Cancer. This year, Challenges and new solutions in getting cancer innovative treatments to patients in Europe is the focus of attention.

Indeed, policy-makers need to encourage timely and appropriate access to important cancer innovations, all stakeholders, working together, can ensure that pharmaceutical innovation reach patients more rapidly, and innovative treatments that will provide long-term value to patients and society are seen as essential goals.

Towards this end, the EORTC is engaged in numerous activities designed to bring together cancer clinical research stakeholders.
